This thesis deals with identity, its division and shows how it is represented by different researchers. The thesis includes a brief overview of modern Slovene poetry and Slovene women poets, among which is Barbara Korun. The main part of the thesis deals with the previously mentioned author, her achievements, activities and other biographical data. The biography is followed by the chronological presentation of her poetry collections: Ostrina miline, Zapiski iz podmizja, Razpoke, Pridem takoj, Čečíca, motnjena od ljubezni and Vmes. The elements of search for identity are represented through poem analysis. In the conclusion, I sum up my observations and findings regarding the types of lyrical subject identity which appear in the poems of Barbara Korun.
