The purpose of this work is to design and build an exit part of the external beam line that is used on tandem accelerator of the Jožef Stefan Institute. The exit part is made of three major parts: adapter that is fixed in place at the end of the beam line, window holder that holds a 5x5mm frame with a 2x2mm exit foil of silicon nitride, and a clamp that holds the adapter and the window holder together firmly enough to ensure a vacuum tight seal, but also to allow for a quick and easy disassembly. Additionally, I used the SRIM program to simulate proton beam passing through a foil of silicon nitride, tantalum and aluminium and showed that silicon nitride is best for minimizing the proton straggling. With the new end part installed I measured the beam FWHM and elemental depth profiles of two bronze specimens.
