We live in a world full of fast evolving technology. One of the newer types of technology is augmented reality. The basic function of augmented reality is its ability to link reality with virtual elements and present them in a reality environment. The combination needs to offer a certain level of interactivity in real time. Lastly, added virtual objects need to seamlessly blend with a real environment in 3-D. Diploma thesis provides an introduction of augmented reality, its possibilities for education and its potencial problems. We explored the usability of augmented reality for multimedia learning, using Mayer's principles for guidelines. We also wrote a preparation for one of the learning topics of computer science class where students use augmented reality for the purpose of multimedia learning.
