The purpose of this thesis is to assess environmental impacts of different types of vehicles. Four types of vehicles have been used in the study: gasoline vehicle, diesel vehicle, natural gas powered vehicle and electric vehicle. LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) methodology has been used to assess environmental impact during production phase and use phase for middle size vehicles. During LCA analysis I used Ecoinvent 3.5 database, which contains average technology and is not specific for vehicle of any manufacturer. Results have been evaluated using CML2001 methodology with environmental indicators and emissions that are used in automotive industry. Results have shown that electric vehicle has the highest values during the production phase in all categories. The lowest values of environmental indicators are in the case of gasoline vehicle/natural gas vehicle. In the phase of use phase the majority of the highest values of environmental indicators are in the case of electrical vehicle, because the source of electricity for use phase used in model is global electricity mixture, which contains 65% of electricity produced by fossil fuels. The lowest values of environmental impact criteria indicators are in the case of natural gas powered vehicle.
