Abstract
Mobilna omrežja se skozi čas stalno nadgrajujejo in izboljšujejo. Današnja mobilna omrežja so zmožna velikih hitrosti prenosa podatkov. V diplomski nalogi smo želeli preveriti, kakšne hitrosti lahko dosežemo na mobilnih omrežjih, ki so nam na voljo. Meritve smo izvajali na omrežjih HSPA+ in LTE. Za izvedbo meritev smo razvili mobilno in strežniško aplikacijo, ki komunicirata med seboj po mobilnem omrežju in internetu. Meritve smo izvedli tudi z različnimi načini generiranja prometa, v različnih omrežjih in na različnih lokacijah. Ugotovili smo, da bomo želene hitrosti, ki nam jih omrežje dopušča, dosegli le v primerih, ko bomo imeli zelo dober signal in malo motenj na radijskem vmesniku.

Title:Performance testing of mobile networks
Abstract:
Over time mobile networks are constantly being upgraded and improved. Modern mobile networks are capable of achieving high data rates. In this thesis we wanted to measure what data rates our mobile networks are capable of. Our measurements will be performed using the HSPA+ and LTE networks. To execute the tests we have developed a mobile and server application that communicate with each other over the mobile network and the internet. We also carried out measurements with different modes of traffic generation, across different networks and on different locations. We have found that reaching the data rates allowed by the network, will require good signal quality and little interference on the air interface.
