For a systematic logging and data management in accordance with the legislation and demands regarding compliance, every organization requires an effective system for document management.
As part of the paper, we performed a study in a selected organization, the purpose of which was to analyse the working processes of document management and the employees’ opinion about the implementation of an electronic system for document management. The results showed that the employees have a relatively good knowledge of the working processes for document management. The organization works in accordance with the legislation; however, the employees have poor knowledge of the regulations in the field of document management and storage.
To achieve the optimal performance of the electronic document management, the management of the organization ought to provide better training to their employees. A greater and a more efficient cooperation between the management, employees and the main administrative office is necessary.
