In the process of welding castings several technological problems arise. Firstly, there is a problem of spraying, when in the presence of high temperatures small grease particles and impurities change their volume and eventually blow up. Secondly, cracks and porosity in welds can occur. The thesis analyses the welding of aluminium castings EN AC-43500-T6 with an aluminium profile EN AW-6005-T6 using filler material OK Autrod 4043. Welding aluminium itself adds an additional problem, the problem of the oxide layer. In the introductory chapters of the thesis the theory of the welding process and the materials used is presented. This is followed by the subsequent chapters on examining the optimal welding parameters, methods and factors, with the goal of a weld achieving sufficient strength and functionality. Welding uses the MIG/MAG process together with the CMT technology. According to the testimony, the main emphasis was on the influence of welding edge treatment in burner positions. We come to the conclusion that it is better for the cast to be machined with each other, in order to change in two consecutive steps.
