This diploma thesis discusses conditions for success of the fascist ideology. In the first part of the analysis it summarizes the fascist ideology’s emergence in Italy. The thesis' empirical part deals with the comparison between the Croatian and Slovak versions of fascism.Ideology itself focuses on the conditions that were needed by ideologies in both countries in order to be successful. It shows how the two countries have used terror as their main leadership form. The thesis recognizes that the success of fascist ideology as part of the cultural dimension of the state is not possible without a state organization. Fascist ideology, however, is based on myths, rituals and symbols, which in itself do not guarantee its success.
