In the domestic appliances industry, companies are increasingly focused on digitalizing their own products and simultaniously racionalizing their manufacturing processes. In the wake of cost optimizations, functions of multiple seperate sensors are merged into a singular multifunction sensor unit. This sensor units enable the implementation of
otherwise premium functionalities into the appliances of middle and lower price ranges. In the scope of this master thesis, a performance analysis of a multifunction sensor unit, that is able to detect acceleration, pressure, temperature and RGB colour spectre, was made. The RGB sensor was used for detecting the decolourization of wash laundry,
while the sensor values were transformed into CIEXYZ and CIELAB colour space. Our findings indicate, that it is possible to detect the red colour decolorization in spite of
the presence of stains, while the transformation of RGB sensor values to a CIELAB colour space elevates the differences in the results to become more pronounced.
