The intention of my bachelor’s thesis is to show the way of religious beliefs of the young population today. As we live in the period of changes which also reflects on the sphere of religion and its role in the society, my intention is to find out how young people feel about religion and whether they still have faith. Changes reflect as a multilayered process: on one hand, as a diminishing strength of Christianity and on the other hand, as a transformation or substitution of Christianity. My thesis will show theoretical view of New Age as a relatively young movement which appears in 1970s. Although it is a relatively young movement, it has become an important part of modern society. The second part of my thesis is a short empirical part. A survey questionnaire was taken from the previous survey of professor Marko Kerševan about high school students and religion. The above-mentioned survey took place in 1969 and today, it celebrates its 50th anniversary. The focus of research was Christianity. In my thesis, I also tried to show the basic characteristics of Christianity or the church as an institution and the connection between Christianity and the New Age movement. Namely, in Christianity, like in other areas of the society, in the second half of the 20th century, fundamental changes took place. Therefore, Christianity, on one hand, responded to external pressures and, on the other, opened a new path of development. The guideline of the whole work is the research question: does even the young population believe? I proved the research question through a research survey which included a sample of 42 young people aged between 21 and 28. The conclusion of the survey shows after analyzing the results that the young population believes. However, it believes differently. In the modern world, each individual characterized by cultural and social diversity can form his own worldview and make his own choice between different religions.
