Kandidatura žensk na predsedniških volitvah v samostojni Sloveniji

Od osamosvojitve in razglasitve neodvisnosti Republike Slovenije do danes je bilo izpeljanih 6 volitev predsednika oziroma predsednice države. Na štirih izmed teh volitev je kandidiralo deset žensk, na dveh pa ni bilo nobene kandidatke za predsednico. Barbara Brezigar je bila edina izmed kandidatk, ki se je uspela prebiti v drugi krog in je tako dosegla najboljši volilni rezultat. Na vseh predsedniških volitvah od leta 1992 do 2017 so bili izvoljeni moški kandidati. Do danes še nismo imeli predsednice države.

• Title: Candidature of women on presidential elections in independent Slovenia

Abstract

Since the attainment and proclamation of independence of the Republic of Slovenia till present day, 6 presidential elections took place in the country. In four of these elections, ten women stood as a candidate for the president of Slovenia, while there were no women candidates in two elections. Barbara Brezigar was the only women candidate who managed to enter into the second round and who has achieved the best voting result in comparison with all other women candidates in this period. The voters elected male candidates in all presidential elections from 1992 to 2017. Slovenia has not had a female president of the state to this day.
