Abstract
Med procesom rezanja z AVC visoko hitrostni curek pod visokim tlakom pospeši abrazivne delce skozi šobo ozkega premera. Zaradi visoke kinetične energije curka se notranjost fokusirne šobe obrablja, posledično dobimo širši izstopni curek, kar ima vpliv na širino in natančnost reza. V magistrskem delu smo se lotili zasnove in izdelave modula, ki avtomatizira merjenje širine izstopnega curka z uporabo linijskega laserja na različnih oddaljenostih od fokusirne šobe. Meritve so bile izvedene s petimi različno obrabljenimi fokusirnimi šobami brez uporabe abraziva pri vodnem tlaku 275 MPa, z odprtim in zaprtim dovodom za abraziv in na dveh različnih rezalnih glavah. Z merjenjem na različnih oddaljenostih od šobe smo določili, kako se spreminja premer curka z oddaljenostjo in iskali korelacijo med obrabo šobe ter izstopno obliko curka.

Title:Development and testing of an instrument for measuring jet diameter during AWJ cutting
Abstract:
During AWJ cutting process, water under high speed is injected through an orifice into the cutting head, which accelerates abrasive particles through the focusing nozzle. Due to the high kinetic energy of the resulting jet, the inside of the focusing nozzle wears out and cutting accuracy is reduced. In this master's thesis an instrument for automated measuring of the jet diameter at different standoff distances is developed, where a thru-beam laser system is used as a measuring device. Measurements were performed with five differently worn nozzles at 275 MPa water pressure, with open and closed abrasive inlet and with two different cutting heads. By measuring the jet diameter at multiple standoff distances we investigated how diameter changes with increasing standoff distance and how nozzle wear can be attributed to the shape of the jet.
