Življenjski svet uporabnikov, ki jim je bila v obdobju otroštva ali mladostništva postavljena psihiatrična diagnoza

V diplomskem delu predstavljam življenjski svet uporabnikov, ki jim je bila v otroštvu ali mladostništvu postavljena psihiatrična diagnoza. V raziskavi sem se osredotočila na socialni kontekst oseb pred postavitvijo diagnoze, samo diagnosticiranje, socialni kontekst osebe po postavitvi diagnoze in vlogo socialnega dela v celotnem procesu pomoči. Zanimalo me je, kakšno je bilo življenje oseb pred postavitvijo diagnoze, kateri so bili varovalni in kateri dejavniki tveganja v njihovem življenju, kako je potekal proces pomoči in samega diagnosticiranje ter kakšne spremembe v njihovem življenju je prinesla diagnoza. Zanimalo me je tudi njihovo mnenje in opažanja. Glede vloge socialnega dela v njihovi obravnavi pa so me zanimale njihove izkušnje in pričakovanja od socialnega dela. Na podlagi rezultatov ugotavljam, da so bile osebe kot otroci izpostavljeni številnim dejavnikom tveganja. Vloga socialnega dela v procesu pomoči je bila majhna in predvsem neizkoriščena. Osebe so bile zaradi psihiatrične diagnoze podvržene stigmi, vendar kljub temu menijo, da diagnoza ni vplivala na njihov socialno ekonomski status.

Abstract

In this graduation thesis I present the life of social work users, who were given psychiatric diagnosis in their childhood or in their adolescence. In this study I focused on: the social context of these people, prior to the diagnosis, in the diagnostic process, the social context of a person after the diagnosis and the role of social work throughout the helping process. I was interested in: the life of people before the diagnosis was made, what were the protective and risk factors in their life, the way the helping process was, the diagnosis itself, and what changes the diagosis brought to their lifes. I was also interested: in their opinions and observations as regards the role of social work in their treatment, in their experiences and expectations from social work help. Based on the results, I have found that people as children were exposed to many risk factors, the role of social work in the helping process was small and did not get envolved enought; people were stigmatized for psychiatric diagnosis and even though they believe that the diagnosis did not affect on their socio-economic status.
