This thesis deals with establishing an experimental system for determining water evaporation characteristics and other evaporation parameters. In the thesis, we describe the theoretical background for water evaporation, evaporator functions and features and the making of a measurement system. The evaporator has been prepared and implemented into the measurement system. A plan was made for the measurement procedure. Three measurements have been carried out with the intent of acquiring data for determining the evaporation characteristics. Improvements of the system and the planning were made after the first measurements. The acquired data from the final measurements were used for calculating the heat flux and the characteristics of the evaporator.
