Elementi uporabniške izkušnje v bibliografskih informacijskih sistemih

Razumevanje, kateri elementi in na kaks?en nac?in vplivajo na uporabniško izkus?njo, je kljuc?no za vrednotenje in nac?rtovanje bibliografskih informacijskih sistemov, ki bodo uporabniku omogočili pozitivno izkus?njo. Z namenom ugotoviti, kako na uporabniško izkušnjo vplivajo lastnosti sistema za poizvedovanje in kontekst uporabnika, je bila izvedena raziskava, pri kateri je bila uporabljena kombinacija treh metod: dnevnika, anketnega vprašalnika in pol-strukturiranega intervjuja. Pri raziskavi je sodelovalo devet udeležencev, vsak pa je zabeležil tri izkušnje pri interakcijah z bibliografskimi sistemi. Rezultati so pokazali, da se lastnosti sistema, ki vplivajo na izkušnjo, razdelijo v dve skupini: funkcionalnost in estetika. Pri funkcionalnosti na izkušnjo najbolj vplivajo relevantnost zadetkov, filtriranje, razvrščanje ter število vrnjenih zadetkov, samopopravljajne in predvidevanje besedila, prikaz podobnih člankov in elementi, ki se vežejo na vir. Estetika uporabniškega vmesnika na uporabniško izkušnjo ni imela močnega vpliva. Pri vplivu konteksta na izkušnjo se je kot najbolj pomembna izkazala uspešnost interakcije, rezultati pa morda nakazujejo tudi na to, da na izkušnjo vplivajo razlog za uporabo sistema, jasnost informacijske potrebe in interes za temo. Kljub nekaterim omejitvam so bile v raziskavi identificirane glavne lastnosti, ki vplivajo na izkušnjo, apliciranje teh lastnosti pri načrtovanju in oblikovanju bibliografskih informacijskih sistemov pa bi pri uporabnikih lahko ustvarilo pozitivnejšo izkušnjo pri interakciji.

Izvleček

Understanding which elements effect user experience and in what way is key for designing and evaluating bibliographic information systems that will enable a positive user experience. The aim of this thesis is to determine how the properties of information retrieval system and the user context affect the user experience. We conducted a study utilising a combination of three methods: diary study, survey questionnaire and semi-structured interview. Nine participants took part in our study and each participant reported three interactions with bibliographic information systems. The results showed that the system's properties that influence user experience can be classified into two categories: functionality and aesthetics. When it comes to functionality, what affects the user experience is relevance of retrieved results, filtering, sorting and the number of search results, text autocorrection and autocomplete functions, similar article suggestions and various elements relating to the selected hit. Aesthetics of the user interface did not seem to significantly affect the user experience in our study. When it comes to user context, the user experience is most affected by the success of the interaction. The results indicate that the reason for system usage, information need clarity and interest in the search topic may also affect the user experience. Despite some limitations, the study has identified the main elements affecting the user experience and their application in the design of bibliographic information systems could create a more positive user experience.
