The master thesis is dealing with problem of committing the crime of murder by a female offender, as well as the typology of the perpetrators of this crime. It is divided into two major parts. The first part shows the criminality of women and their position through history. We also reviewed statistical data on criminal acts of murder in the area of former Yugoslavia (after its disintegration), as well as the region of south-eastern Europe. The second part explains the crime of murder according to the law of the Republic of Slovenia. In addition, this thesis deals with the victim's contribution to the commission of crime and the differences between female and male perpetrators. In this master thesis we considered the differences that are most evident, such as age, emotions, type and place of murder. When a woman commits a crime, the main reason in almost all these cases is because of the long-standing suffering of family violence. The method of committing a crime is usually very personal, which suggests that the perpetrator was attached to the victim. Result of crime is severe head and chest damage on victim’s body. The place of homicide is always a house, or an apartment in which they lived together (the victim and the perpetrator). In addition, domestic violence is addressed in the task as one of the main reasons for committing murder. Within the master's thesis, the legal assessment of the sentence in the judicial system of the Republic of Slovenia is processed, and what are the aggravating and possible mitigating circumstances. Based on the data from judgments owned by the Institute of Criminology at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana, the perpetrator’s profile according to the geographical area was carried out. The analysis of judgments by regions of the Republic of Slovenia showed that the perpetrator is approximately between 38 and 51 years old, with very low education (elementary school) and poor social competences. In all these cases, they often have problems with mental or personal disorders.
