The Church and Christianity that mediate and implement the Gospel message are in many ways involved in the new paradigm of the world, which they have shaped in their own way. In order to be able to maintain and authentically live in the »new« world, the Church has to adapt in such a way that it will discover and accept anything that serves man for a better quality of life, while at the same time mediate the dimension of the transcendental in a manner that will speak to an individual person. Theology plays a critical and programmatic role in uncovering essential sounds and adjusting to discarded, overlooked or forgotten dimensions, and revealing new qualities of being, thinking and acting. Grmič's theological and thought creativity wanted to follow this task in a dialectical way in the conditions of post-war and post-war Slovenia.
