Abstract
Avtonomija vzgojiteljev pri izbiri kakovostnih slikanic v predšolskem obdobju je diplomsko delo, ki obravnava strokovne teoretične razlage o avtonomiji, kakovostni slikanici za najmlajše in priznanja v slovenskem knjižnem prostoru za mladinsko književnost. Obsega teoretični del z opredelitvami pojmov avtonomija vzgojiteljev, izbor kakovostnih slikanic, ovrednoti kakovostno zgodbo in kakovostno ilustracijo. Rdeča nit teoretičnega dela je ves čas v ospredju, kot vrednota dobre slikanice in njen pomen v pred-bralnem obdobju. Slikanica je prva otrokova knjiga, s katero stopa v kasnejše bralne navade in prva knjiga, ki otroku buri domišljijo, radovednost, se iz nje uči in spoznava nova znanja. Kvalitetna zgodba in kakovostna ilustracija spodbujata otrokovo razmišljanje in govor ter mu s tem nudita pomoč v razvoju čustev, spoznavanju življenja in okolja, hkrati pa tvorita najpomembnejše, da se otrok s težavami sooča in išče prave rešitve, ki so prilagojene njegovi stopnji razumevanja. Empirični del je zasnovan z anonimno anketo med vzgojitelji v vrtcu, z namenom ugotovitve, koliko jim predstavlja kakovostna slikanica, tako vsebinska kot ilustrativna kakovost. Iz vprašalnika s pridobljenimi odgovori se izlušči mnenje posameznikov, torej poznavanje kakovostnih slikanic, vrednot, ki odlikujejo kakovostno slikanico, poznavanje nagrajenih slikanic, predvsem priznanja zlata hruška. Cilj diplomskega dela je na osnovi pridobljenih odgovorov primerjati teoretične napotke s praktičnim izvajanjem v vrtcu. Izhajanje iz anketnega vprašalnika predstavlja ugotovitve, kaj vpliva na vzgojiteljevo izbiro slikanice, kakšnih vzorcev izbire se poslužuje in v koliki meri pozna primerno in kakovostno slikanico, ter kakšen vir mu je pri izbiri najpomembnejši. Analiza in interpretacija pridobljenih odgovorov so lahko merilo vključevanja kakovostnih slikanic v dejavnost in vrsta spodbude, kako čim bolj približati otrokom kakovostno slikanico.

Title:
Educators autonomy in selecting high quality picture books during the pre-school period
Abstract:
Autonomy of pre-school educators in selecting qualiting picture books in the pre-school period – is a thesis dealing with professional theoretical explanations about autonomy, quality picture books and awards for youth literature in Slovenia. It is comprised of the theoretical part with the definitions of terms autonomy of pre-school educators, selection of quality picture books, rating the quality of a story and the quality of a grapgic illustration. The recurrent theme of the theoretical part in the value of a good picture book in a child's pre-reading period. The picture book is a child's first book, with which he endavours in to his future reading habits and also the first book that sparks the child's imagination, curiousity and his first learning experience. A quality story and illustration stimulate a child's ponderance and speech and offer him help with developing freelings and emotions, getting familiar with life and surroundings while at same time confroting the child with a problem and helping him search for solutions, adjusted to the child's level of comprehension. Empirical part is based on an anonymous survey of educators within the kindergarten, with the intention of assessing the value of quality picture book – both as story content and illustrative value. From the survey, we gather the opinion af individuals, knowledge of quality picture books, values that distinguish a quality picture book and knowledge of awarded picture books especially Golden pear. The goal of the thesis is to compare the theoretical guidelines with the actual practises within kindergartens from the survey answers. The survey present assessments about what impacts the educators decision of choosing a picture book and patterns of his choices and to what degree does he/she recognize a quality and appropriate picture book and which source affects his/her choise the most. Analysis and interpretation of obtained answe can be a base measure for inclusion of quality picture books to the education and a way of encouagement, how to approach the children with a quality picture book.
