Abstract

Title:Differentiating between the state and the passiv by examples from Corpus of Academic Slovenian
Abstract:
Passive voice is quite rare in Slovene because of the tradtion that does not recommend using it, except in some text sorts. The passive voice is built with the praciple with -n/-t or with se. The problem occurs when the particlpe does not express the passiv voice, but the state after a finished verbal act. The rule to tell apart the two meanings is to transform an active construction into a passive one but a tense and a verbal aspect should not be changed. The rule is not always right.

Keywords:passive voice, participle with -n/-t, state after a finshed verbal act, active voice
