The selected thesis presents and analyzes the fairytale entitled Janko in Metka, written by Jacob
and Wilhelm Grimm. The theoretical part of the thesis discusses the content of the story, its
meaning, and the characters that appear within the text. The analysis is accompanied by a brief
historical overview, along with the findings of what the Brothers Grimm contributed to the world
of fairy tales and how children's book illustration developed and influenced children.
Additionally, it deals with the problem of definite illustration and hindering the imagination of
the viewer.
The practical part of the thesis involves designing the book, developing a typeface for the text,
and the creation of accompanying illustrations. It also covers the manufacturing process and the
analysis of the finished product.
