Abstract
Izbranim pragovcem smo izračunali prostornino in določili napake. Na kakovost žaganega lesa so najbolj vplivale neprava črnjava, grče in razpoke.

Title:Production of crossties on sawmill Poganci in Novo mesto
Abstract:
The information for the diploma paper was obtained on a sawmill Poganci near Novo mesto, where railway sleepers are made from beech sleeper wood. We have chosen 50 pieces of sleeper wood with different middle diameter. We have calculated the volume of the chosen sleeper wood and determined the mistakes in timber. Using the band was machine we cut the sleeper wood into cut wood shaped as sleepers, boards of different dimensions, and cut beams. Marking the cut wood has enabled the following of the products from sleeper wood to final product. By comparing the volume of the sleeper wood and the cut wood we were able to calculate the total quantitative efficiency. The average quantitative efficiency of cutting timber was from 58 % to 59 %. Irregular heartwood influenced the quality of cut wood most, followed by knots and cracks.
