My thesis paper Visual interpretation of movement in the correlation with ceramics and graphics stems from a desire to connect the two mediums which have caught my interest the most during my studies and to explore in more detail their usage and intercorrelation in prehistory and contemporary art.
The central theme of the diploma thesis is transferring graphic drawing to ceramics. I use ceramics as a level surface for printing. I am particularly interested in exploring texture. It is created by restamping matrix on a surface and then finalized with a rubber brush. My goal is to achieve a tactile surface on which an active line in combination with light becomes more visible. It is this active line that enables the creation of visual movement reminiscent of the growth of roots, leaves and waves. The intertwinement of lines in graphics resembles the interplay of lines in nature, especially the three natural elements mentioned above. The translucency of porcelain allows me to highlight the interplay of textures.
