We all come from different parts of the world, where communication and languages are different, we also differ in our clothes, customs and food. In my diploma degree, a research project of how we can meet and get to know other cultures and their characteristics within our group by using a puppet, is represented.
A puppet can relax us, get us closer to one another and makes us see the topic in an interesting way. A puppet can also become our friend and a part of us in our everyday living.
In the theoretical part multiculturalism, art and the puppet itself are described. There are also some guidelines, provided to us by various theoreticians, which can be very helpful.
In the empirical part, there is a description of the project I have done. I introduced and included a puppet rat, named Angelca in to our group. Throughout the project she motivated us and together we were traveling and discovering the cultures of our group. We took a travel around Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Russia and Mexico. The children have learnt a lot during the project. With the help of learning materials and presentations, they got new experiences and new knowledge in an interesting way.
