Abstract
Zadovoljni zaposleni so bolj produktivni, ustvarjalni in predani svojim delodajalcem. Vprašalnik zajema splošno, intrinzično in ekstrinzično zadovoljstvo. Anketirancem smo razdelili končno slovensko verzijo in še dodani vprašalnik o vprašalniku, kjer so ocenjevali razumljivost, enostavnost, jedrnatost in časovno spremenljivost vprašalnika o zadovoljstvu. Rezultati: Zaposleni so razumljivost ocenili s povprečno oceno 3,8/5,0, enostavnost s povprečno oceno 4,0/5,0, jedrnatost s povprečno oceno 3,8/5,0 in časovno spremenljivost s 4,6/5,0. Povprečen čas izpolnjevanja je bil 307 s. Preiskovalci so razumljivost ocenili s povprečno oceno 3,6/5,0, enostavnost s povprečno oceno 4,6/5,0, jedrnatost s povprečno oceno 4,8/5,0 in časovno sprejemljivostjo s 5,0/5,0. Ostali rezultati so pokazali ustrezno razumljivost, enostavnost in jedrnatost.

Title:Slovenian translation and comprehensibility of the Minnesota satisfaction questionnaire : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: Job satisfaction is one of the most important factors which determine the efficiency of work organisations and have a positive impact on the employees as regards their needs and expectations. If the employees are content and satisfied with their job, they are more productive, creative, and loyal to their employers and tend to contribute more to their organisations. Oftentimes, the workload and the working conditions have a negative effect on the employees, which may overburden and adversely affect their organisms. This condition is reflected in tiredness, exhaustion, decreased productivity and functionality. It is therefore of utmost importance that both, the employers and the employees, recognise the distress and the stressors which may jeopardise their work life balance and result in poor productivity. Workplace ergonomics, the employees’ general physical condition and active breaks during the workday are crucial in maintaining good health. The Minnesota satisfaction questionnaire allows for individual insight into the extent to which an employee feels satisfied with his or her job. The questionnaire addresses the intrinsic, extrinsic and general satisfaction factors. Purpose: The aim of the diploma work was to translate the English version of the job satisfaction questionnaire into the Slovene language. Methods: In the process of translation and adaptation of the questionnaire, we adhered to the recommended guidelines so as to produce the most accurate, valid and reliable Slovene version. The translation was performed in three consecutive phases, namely, the translation from the original English text into Slovene by three independent translators, the back translation of the consensually agreed upon final version (one person) and a pilot study (ten persons). The study participants received the final Slovene version and an additional questionnaire about the job satisfaction questionnaire to assess its comprehensibility, simplicity, conciseness, and the acceptable amount of time to fill it out. They were also required to measure the time needed to complete the questionnaire. The investigators analysed questionnaire data by using the Excel program and also received an additional questionnaire to assess comprehensibility, simplicity, conciseness, and the acceptable amount of time to data processing. They recorded required time for data input. Results: With respect to different features of the questionnaire, the following rates were retrieved: comprehensibility 3.8/5.0; simplicity 4.0/5.0; conciseness 3.8/5.0; acceptable amount of time for completion 4.6/5.0. The average completion time was recorded at 307 s. The investigators assessed comprehensibility with 3.6/5.0; simplicity 4.6/5.0; conciseness 4.8/5.0; acceptable amount of time for completion 5.0/5.0. The average completion time was recorded at 380 s. Discussion and conclusion: The translators encountered a special problem in translating the educational levels of the respondents due to different educational systems in the two countries. According to the survey results, the acceptable amount of time for completion is an important feature of the questionnaire. The questionnaire was rated as satisfactory also as regards its comprehensibility, simplicity and conciseness. The anonymity of the respondents was highlighted.
