The diploma thesis is linguo-stylistic overview of first cookbooks in slovenian language. First part presents sociolinguistic background for the development of Vodnik's Kuharske Bukve and Slovenska kuharica from Magdalena Pleiweis. Authors were influenced by the age of Enlightenment in Slovenia, social circumstances and their personal motivations about which we can read in the introductions of their cookbooks. Second part is based on linguo-stylistic analysis of selected recipes which are analysed regarding their structure and terminology. Terminology is examined regarding it's origin, the meaning it has today and whether it is still used or not. Thesis also contains comparison of presented cookbooks with modern ones.
