Diploma thesis Design and Analysis of a Web Catalogue about Kamnik is divided into a theoretical and experimental part. The purpose of the diploma thesis was to investigate the user experience and usability of the web catalogue, which was designed with the purpose of presenting the city of Kamnik. Considering that in everyday life more and more things are done with the help of computers and smartphones, we have explored the usability and user experience of web catalogues.
In the theoretical part, the concepts of user experience and usability were explained, and what were the differences between them. In brief, the meaning of catalogue was explained. Then, the use of web catalogues is presented. This is divided into the sections about the number of published and read catalogues, who, from where and when users access the web catalogues. Then, the methodology of testing the user experience is briefly presented. The used test methods were described below. These were A/B testing and surveys. In addition, some examples of web catalogues for the promotion of cities and local attractions were analysed in this part of the diploma thesis. In the experimental part, the course of catalogue design and testing is described and presented with the help of a survey and presentation of the Issuu web portal. After the production, all three catalogues were analysed. The results of the analysis were presented in the results and in the discussion. The final product is three different web catalogues of the city and sights in Kamnik, and an analysis of their usability and user experience.
