The diploma thesis describes the process of manufacturing a power supply for LEDs using an integrated circuit made by Texas Instruments. The circuit contains a timer for adjusting the brightness of the LEDs, test points for measurements, and lements for turning on / off diagnostic and other functions. Adjusting the brightness of the LEDs is enabled with a built-in or external timer
The physical background of LED operation is described followed by an overview of the TPS92610-Q1 integrated circuit and its built-in diagnostic functions. Next, the procedure of choosing the element values that result in the desired behavior of the ciruit is described. Several improvements are introduced into the initial circuit. The procedure for drawing the schematic and the PCB in Altium Designer is described. The circuit is simulated with Pspice and the results are compared with the measurements of the manufactured circuit.
