Abstract
Povezovalci so besedilni elementi in zaznamovalci strukture, ki vnašajo kohezijo in koherenco, in hkrati tudi navodila, s katerimi govorec oziroma pisec izraža mnenje do povedanega in nas usmerja k pravilnemu razumevanju govora.

Title:Interpreting connectors from French into Slovene
Abstract:
Connectors are textual elements which mark the structure of the text and help establish relationships between other textual elements. They introduce cohesion and coherence and if used correctly, work as instructions for recipients to better understand the speaker’s or writer’s point of view. The meaning of connectors depends on relationships with other textual elements. In the framework of text linguistics, discourse analysis and corpus linguistics, connectors became a popular research subject from the 1980s onwards. In the dissertation Interpreting connectors from French to Slovenian, we look at how Slovene conference interpreters translate connectors based on speeches, given at the Council of the EU. For this purpose, we created a French-Slovene corpus of individual examples of French connectors and Slovene interpretations. We focused on the frequency of connectors in such speeches and on strategies used for translating French connectors into standard Slovene. The examples and the insights into conference interpreting could be useful especially for interpreting students.
