The master thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes the demographic and social profile of elderly people and the activities that they carry out on daily life. The data are gathered from the archive of the National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) about the year 2017. Another important aspect highlighted is the relevant presence of elderly people in Italy and more specically in a small town of Southern Italy. The second chapter highlights how the new technologies are adapting to all people according to their age, especially in case of elderly. The chapter presents the new technologies and their usefulness. A brief description of the projects promoted by EU countries, in particular in Italy, Slovenia and in USA, Russian and Canadian, to favor the use of new technologies by elderly people as support for the development of their activities is presented. The third chapter shows the main results of a field research carried out to study the experience of the elderly people who have or have not participated to the project "Grandparents at Computer" promoted by the municipality. In this research the main motivations to attend the course or not are investigated by administering a questionnaire to a not random sample of people living in a small town.
