In the diploma thesis the principle of making a battery powered electric powertrain for a moped or any other electric vehicle with power range from 9 to 18 kW is described.
In introduction the history of powertrain of this kind and its comparison to the internal combustion powertrains are presented. The accessibility of electric powertrains already made, the problems of powertrain conversion when choosing particular components and their assembly are also mentioned.
In the second chapter the components that are needed for the making of such powertrain: battery, power converter and motive electric motor are presented.
In the following chapters we calculated the power and energy needed for a moped to reach desired charachteristics. Then we presented components that were chosen for the used electric powertrain. Some components are bought and some are self-made.
In the last chapter we presented the final product, which is not yet set on a moped. The assembly of all components and settings needed for the whole system to work safely and reliably are described. The results, which were gained with measurments of a electric powertrain, are shown.
