Helping vulnerable family with their issues is very important for all its members, therefore we as a trained professional should plan the process of helping them in a way, that it is adapted to their needs. Process work is approach which does not get enough attention, planning of meetings often gets more attention and therefore we ignore processability and integrity. In master's degree I am analyzing ways how to help vulnerable family, focusing on defining the process of doing so, which was my main objective. I am emphasizing on functionality of tool which is recording all our meetings, and focusing on transparency of process work being done. I was also exploring my own work, in a role as social pedagog, and also ways and techniques which were used based on needs of particular family.
In theoretic part of my work I am firstly focusing on short definition how to understand family in need, which is base point for further work with them. Work is continuing with part which is describing work with family as a process work, co-creating between social pedagog and family members, focusing on a process, important part of which is work relationship. I also talk about my two favorite concepts; solution-focused approach and redirection of solving problems to solution searching. At this point I am focusing on first and second level of working with family or with other words, focusing on content and process. Working on two levels is helping us understand the family much more in detail; it shows that what is hidden at first, instead of just events which accrued in this family. This is family dynamics which dictates how family members treat each other, how they communicate. It is exploring relationships inside family group. Social pedagog role in working with a family is very important, due to leading and accompanying the family towards target objectives.
Empirical part of master’s degree is focusing on qualitative study of case in which one four-member family was participating. Main target of study is to show importance and functionality of process aspect of working with a family and in meantime also see which working method of social pedagog is most effective for doing so. In the results main focus is on overview of the process approach indicators, through various important factors that I perceived myself. I also integrated family contribution towards process developing and in mid time I realized that with co-creation of this process we were strengthening our relationship. Results were better and were achieved faster. Positive consequence was also seen in better relationship between family members. Results shown that monitoring and recording of process approach is a complex job, which demands great deal of concentration. Hart of this process was need to co-create and to cooperate with social pedagog and family members. The most important was family’s stories and their experience based on which, they were searching for a solution.
