Delo predstavlja sistematičen pregled matematične teorije, povezane z vsoto kvadratov, od zelo osnovnih definicij do dokaza Bacheteve domneve. Razvoj rešitve problema vsote štirih kvadratov je predstavljen tudi z zgodovinskega vidika, od prvih domnev starogrških matematikov pa vse do zadnjih dognanj dvajsetega stoletja.

Izvleček

The work is a systematic overview of the mathematical theory associated with the sum of squares, from very basic definitions to the evidence of Bachet's conjucture. The development of a solution to the problem of the sum of four squares is also presented from the earliest assumptions of the ancient Greek mathematicians until the last twentieth century findings.
