Konserviranje-restavriranje oljne slike na železni pločevini Požar v Kranju iz Narodnega muzeja Slovenije

Abstract
Na sliki Požar v Kranju se pojavljajo trije konservatorski problemski sklopi. Nosilec je korodiran, barvna plast skrita pod potemnelim premazom in premaz prekrit z nepregledno množico grafitnih podpisov. Po posvetu z zaposlenimi v konservatorsko-restavratorski delavnici za predmete iz kovine (mag. Nataša Nemeček) in v kustodijatu (dr. Mateja Kos) smo iskali rešitve za odstranitev podpisov, premaza in korozije. Najbolj primerno sredstvo za odstranjevanje grafitnih napisov s kovinskih letvic okvirja je bila kombinacija naravne gume (magic groomsticka) z mucinom in triamonijevim citratom (TAC) ali pa s pufrskima raztopinama s tri hidroksimetil aminometanom (TRIS), pH 8,5 in trietanolaminom (TEA), pH 8. Na glavnem motivu je za odstranitev napisov primerno učinkovala pufrska raztopina TAC, pH 7. Za odstranjevanje premaza smo na tanjših plasteh uporabljali raztopino TAC + natrijev hidroksid (NaOH), pH 7; na trdovratnejših delih premaza pa TAC + NaOH, pH 8 v agar agarju. Premaz na aplikaciji Križani je topil topilno-surfaktantni gel z mešanim topilom (Shellsol D-60 in etanol v razmerju 3 : 7). Korozijske produkte na hrbtu smo odstranjevali mehansko, na licu pa z različnimi kemijskimi sredstvi. Po konservatorsko-restavratorskih delih je bila spet vzpostavljena celota likovnega motiva. Barvna razmerja so spet bližje originalnim in odkrili smo elemente likovne kompozicije, ki se čez premaz in nečistoče niso videli.

Title:Conservation-restoration of oil painting on iron metal plate Kranj in flames from National Museum of Slovenia
Abstract:
The painting "Kranj in flames" has three categories of conservation-restoration issues. The iron plate is heavily corroded, the oil paint is hidden under a thick darkened layer of fast drying oil and the mentioned layer is also covered by a chaotic mass of graphite signatures. After consulting with the employees in the National museum of Slovenia (Nataša Nemeček, Mateja Kos) a decision was made to remove it all. The removal of signatures was possible with a combination of the Magic Groomstick with mucin and triammonia citrate (TAC) or with buffers hydroxymethyl aminomethane (TRIS) pH 8,5 and triethanolamine (TEA) pH 8.The darkened layer was soluble in pH 7 and pH 8 solution of TAC and sodium hydroxyde (NaOH). The solution with higher pH, 8, and rigid gel agar. Agar was necessary for the thickest and least soluble parts. Corrosion was removed mostly mechanically or with different chemical agents. After conservation-restoration work the artistic aspect of the painting was clearly more visible again and also colours became closer to the original hues.
