Abstract
Magistrsko delo opisuje natego in razjasni določene pojme v povezavi s pretakanjem tekočine.

Title:Effects of liquids' and tubes' properties on flow through the siphon
Abstract:
This thesis describes the principles of siphon and elaborates the specific concepts related to the flow of fluids. Measurements of the siphon flow for different liquids and different height differences are presented in detail. The theoretical background describing the siphon mechanism differs slightly in the literature. Generally, the siphon is based on the pressure difference due to the gravitational attraction. In this thesis, two types of flow are described in detail: the laminar flow and the turbulent flow. Furthermore, we provide the detailed description of the Reynold's experiment and the Reynold's number, which is the criterion for determining if the flow is laminar or turbulent. The thesis is based on the measurements presented in the second part. Measurements were carried out for various liquids (water and syrup) and with pipes of different diameters.
