Abstract

Title:
The impact of payability for oral hormonal contraception on the frequency of its use in female adolescents : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: Youth are the most sexual active part of the population and it is important for them to be protected from unexpected pregnancy and sexual transmited diseased. Protection must be accessible, cheap and safe. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find out frequency of use of oral hormonal contraception among young girls in high school. Methods: This research is based on descriptive method and purposive pattern and includes 174 girls that are in 4th grade of high school (group A – high schools where they teach students about nursing care, group B – other high schools). They anonymously and voluntarily filled up questionnaires. We analysed deviation, average, percents and equality of variation. For statistical divergence we used p ≤ 0,05. For analysis we used SPSS programe, version 22.0.0.0. and Microsoft Excel (version 2016). Results: We found out that oral hormonal contraception is the most used form of contraception among young girls (46,6 %) in this research. The use of hormonal contraception wouldn't drasticly change if it would becoma payable. The knowledge of contraception is satisfactorily, there aren't a lot of differences betwen group A and B. Discussion and conclusion: Young girls have adequately enough knowledge of contraception. The knowledge is imperfectly about fiziology of menstrual cycle. Girls in group B use contraception more often, more girls from group B used contraception during their first sexual intercourse. Girls more likely take advices from people close to them, they don't have so much trust in medical staff. It is crusal for nurses to improve communication with young girls and get closer to them because they can give more professional and correct advices.
