Master’s thesis titled Educational 3d Simulation of Technological Process and Analysis of Didactic Effectiveness summarizes the field of 3D modeling of technical objects, simulation of the technical process and analysis of didactic and educational effectiveness with the help of modern technologies.
Our main research problem that we dealt with in the master’s thesis was finding a way to study and summarize the knowledge that is necessary for creating an animation of a technological process. We had to examine the most optimal ways to include interactivity or the possibility of interactive modification of the stream of content during the presentation of animation. The purpose of the research was to create an educational interactive material with an interdisciplinary approach and with use of modern technologies, with the aim of creating an optimal presentation of the process and the technological process to the end users. The experimental part was focused on the highest visual correctness of 3D modeling (approximation to realism in the virtual world with an emphasis on visualization message of final product), as well as on the in-depth technical aspect, where the technical correctness of procedures, workflow and the completeness of the final animation were taken into account.
At the initial stage, the research involved analysis of tools and familiarization with the 3D environment. It was followed by 3D modeling, texturing and rendering based on baseline sketches. With the selection of appropriate procedures and tools, research was followed by animation, which was based on both basic and complex animation procedures. The possibility of use of higher or lower degree of interactivity was analyzed. The research involved the analysis of the user experience with presenting the simulation of technical processes to students. In the analysis, it was found that in the field of education of classical and modern printing processes interactive material with included 3D content is significantly more effective compared to classical study materials. Both in the field of memory and practical use of knowledge, the results showed that the test group, which used interactive materials, achieved better results of written verification. The analysis of the opinions of the testers confirmed the desire of use of such materials in the continuation of the study.
