The master’s thesis deals with the deserted historical objects in the Soteska valley between Bled and Bohinjska Bistrica. These are deteriorating due to poor maintenance. In 1793, the path to Bohinj was built by baron Žiga Zois. The remains of the trails are still visible in certain areas. The most famous still existing part of the trail is located next to the stone bridge in Blatni graben, where the oldest forestry lift in Europe is still located. These are just a few of the many interesting objects in the area. Every year, there is a problem due to the increased number of cyclists, which do not have proper infrastructure. For the main route, cyclists choose the main road which is very dangerous. The municipalities of Bled and Bohinj intend to connect the municipalities with the new cycling route, providing at the same time a safe path for both cyclists and hikers. Few people notice historical objects when they go through the gorge in Bohinj. With the new cycling route, the opportunity to integrate history becomes clear as this route could also offer the cyclists and hikers an additional experience.
