The purpose of the thesis of Still life photography is to define still life as a genre of photography and to explore how to represent object in their best way in order to create a story with them. In the theoretical part is firstly described the history of still life, which had already developed in the earliest paintings, and provided a rich basis then in the development of photography. In the following are analyzed individual components that are crucial for still life, as they can increase the narrative of the photo. Each section also includes photographs that clearly illustrate individual components, which are divided into five section: objects, lighting, composition, stories and motives, and a section of capture and processing. At the end of the theoretical work, four photographers were briefly presented, which significantly influenced the development of still life. In the experimental work, various photographs are analyzed through the relevance and excitement of the previously described section, and that the process of photographing still life can also be transferred to a poster, logo or in 3D design. In the diploma thesis, it is mainly analyzed what a photographer needs for a good photo of still life, where he can get ideas and how to achieve an attractive and interesting photo to the viewer. It also explains how the components of still life affect individual items that are the main object in still life.
