Narratology of drama developed in the post-classical phase of narratology and it has been trying to produce universal narrative drama models in the last decades, with the help of concrete narratological analyses of plays. In Slovenia, Alenka Koron researched this area in her monography Sodobne teorije pripovedi. The narrative analysis of all seven Eliot's dramas that stemmed from the dramatic personas as a narrator and sought narrative techniques, did not contribute to the new interpretation of Eliot's dramatic opus or new narratological model, but confirmed the previous ones. The narrative proceedings arise in all his dramas. There are only a few found in the Sweeney Agonistes, while in other dramas, there are relatively many. The most common is analepsis, which is used to describe past events, along with the first person intradiegetic narrator. Functions in the foreground are function of characterization of dramatis personae, function of contrasting perspectives and psychological function.
