Unfortunately, in countries with a lot of mineral resources, the accidentds in the mines are something that happens often. That is the reason why they are usually not even mentioned in the media. But every now and then, there is an accident that deviates with its details from another mining accidents. Mining accidents in Chile and Turkey attracted a lot of interest in public, but the reasons were different. In Chile mining accident all of the 33 trapped miners were saved after months of rescue attempst, while according to the number of victims, Turkey accident was the worst of it`s kind in their modern history. Human factor was the cause in both accidents. Why are the consequences between two disasters differnet? There are mainly two reasons: the cause of the accident and sistem of crisis management in each country (preventive measures, responsivnes, preperdnes and experience). Both disasters include failure of preventive measures, crisis management was taken over by national institutions and closure of both mines.
