Fairy tales are something magical, different to the children and along them they feel the desire of getting away into the unexpected, surreal world, where everything is possible. Literature characters in fairy tales are making possible for the children to identify with them, to »travel« with them throughout the story and it's going ons and share their feelings with the characters, to feel with them and feel compassion for them.
This thesis should serve as a preposition how to include fairy tales and literature characters into the kindergarten activities; how to approach literature to children so they will enjoy reading and implicating it in their lives; how to approach multiculturalism and otherness to the children truss fairy tales; it should also serve as a wish and a reminder not to forget to keep reading classical fairy tales to the children along with modern ones.
The thesis contains the definition of a fairy tale, it defines the matter of a fairy tale to the children, it contains the description of three types of fairy tales, the chapter about literature in preschool education, it's matter and it's goals; the chapter about literature characters, a definition of a character and a definition of the concept of identifying with literature characters; it also contains the chapter about multiculturalism in preschool education and it's territory.
