Učinki 12-tedenskega programa vadbe na gibalne in aerobne sposobnosti starostnikov : magistrsko delo

Abstract
V razvitem svetu narašča število starostnikov in s tem potreba po skrbi zanje. Skladno s tem se pojavlja vedno več programov vadbe, namenjenih starostnikom. Eden takšnih je tudi Aktiven dan, ki ga izvaja Zavod Aktivna starost v povezavi s Fitnes kliniko by Urška v DEOS centrih starejših po Sloveniji. Namen magistrskega dela je bil ugotoviti, kakšni so učinki tega programa na gibalne in aerobne sposobnosti starostnikov. Vzorec preizkušancev je zajemal 26 starostnikov (6 moških in 20 žensk) povprečne starosti 84,0 ± 3,4 leta (razpon 77–91 let). Vadba je trajala 12 tednov. Gibalne in aerobne sposobnosti smo preverjali s testom telesne pripravljenosti starostnikov, in sicer pred začetkom in po 12 tednih vadbe. Statistično značilne razlike smo ugotavljali z analizo variance za ponovljene meritve. Po 12 tednih vadbe smo izmerili statistično značilno izboljšanje v testih moči zgornjih in spodnjih okončin, gibljivosti zgornjih in spodnjih okončin ter aerobnih sposobnosti. Napredka nismo zaznali samo pri testu vstani in pojdi, ki preverja agilnost in dinamično ravnotežje. Lahko rečemo, da program vadbe Aktiven dan učinkovito izboljšuje gibalne in aerobne sposobnosti starostnikov po 12 tednih vadbe.

Title:Effects of 12-week exercise program on motor skills and aerobic fitness of elderly
Abstract:
In developed countires the number of elderly is on the rise. With that comes the need to take good care of them. As a consequence numerous exercise programs on the market are devoted to elderly. One of them is program Aktiven dan, product of Zavod Aktivna starost in cooperation with Fitnes klinika by Urška, which is carried out in DEOS retirement homes for elderly across Slovenia. The aim of this study was to find out what are the effects of aforementioned exercise program on motor skills and aerobic fitness of elderly. There were 26 subjects included in study (6 men and 20 women) of average age 84,0 ± 3,4 years (range from 77 to 91 years). Exercise program lasted 12 weeks. For testing motor skills and aerobic fitness we used Senior fitness test prior to the start of the program and after 12 weeks. We found statistical significant improvement in tests of lower and upper body strength, lower and upper body flexibility and aerobic fitness. The only test where we found no difference between pre and post exercise results is 8ft-up-and-go that measures agility and dinamic balance. The findings of this study suggest that exercise program Aktiven dan is and effective program for developing motor skills and aerobic fitness of elderly.
