Web applications for purchasing e-tickets for railway passenger transport are regularly used in most countries around the world. Nevertheless, a similar application, intended for the passengers of the Slovenian Railways, is not yet available.
The purpose of the thesis is to develop a prototype system that would enable such. The product of the thesis is a fully functioning prototype of the e-ticketing system, developed on the Salesforce platform, which allows users to view and purchase e-tickets through a web application. At the same time, we developed a specially designed web application for the train conductor, who can check passenger e-tickets by means of the QR code printed thereon. In addition to the above, we also developed a simple web application for the employees responsible for the smooth functioning of the e-ticket system to maintain the data necessary for the operation of the system. The current prototype of the system can be upgraded and adapted to any further needs. The thesis can also be useful for first-time developers on the Salesforce Platform.
