Sodelovanje med različnimi zvrstmi vojske v operaciji Market Garden leta 1944

Diplomsko delo zajema sodelovanje različnih zvrsti vojske v operaciji Market Garden, ki so jo izvedli med 17. in 25. septembrom leta 1944. V nalogi je najprej predstavljen načrt operacije in kaj so zavezniki z njim želeli doseči, nato so predstavljene zavezniške enote, ki so sodelovale v operaciji in vidnejše nemške enote. Sledi opis poteka operacije, zaradi lažjega razumevanja sem potek operacije opisal po dnevih. Opis poteka operacije nam da vpogled, kaj se je med operacijo dogajalo, kje so potekali najmočnejši boji in v katerih elementih se je zalomilo. Nato sledi krajši opis, kako je obveščevalno delovanje posredovalo podatke in kako so le-ti bili točni. Osebno se mi namreč zdi, da je ta del operacije imel velik vpliv na izhod operacije. Najpomembnejši del moje diplomske naloge je bila predstavitev sodelovanja med posameznimi zvrstmi vojske v operaciji. V operaciji je šlo za sodelovanje padalskih enot (ki so del letalstva) in kopenskih enot, te je v operaciji predstavljal 30. korpus. Tako sem ugotovil, ali je bilo sodelovanje uspešno ali neuspešno, ter v katerih primerih operacije je bilo to najbolj vidno. Na koncu sem svoje ugotovitve povzel in ugotovil, ali moji hipotezi držita ali ne.

Abstract

This dissertation encompasses the cooperation between different types of military in operation Market Garden, which occurred between 17th and 25th September 1944. Firstly, there is the plan of military operations and what allies tried to achieve with it, then the presentation of allies’ units follows, which have participated in the operation, and important German units. This is followed by a short description of how the intelligence agency forwarded the information and the accuracy of it. Personally, I believe, this part of the operation had a big influence on the final outcome of the operation. The most important part of the dissertation was the presentation of cooperation between individual types of army in the process. It covers the cooperation of parachute units (which are a part of the air force) and terrestrial units, presented by the 30th military corps. This led me to a conclusion whether or not the cooperation was successful or not and in which cases is that the most obvious. At the end I have summed up my findings and confirmed or dropped my hypothesis.
