Introduction: The appearance of the face is an important social and psychological factor that affects the person's personality. It is designed by a system of many parameters, but from all human facial expressions, the smile is probably the most striking with its pleasantness but, at the same time, a complex phenomenon. Although this has long been a motive for artistic and philosophical debates, a smile from the anatomical and physiological point of view is the result of the exposure of teeth and gums. And precisely this color combination is decisive in the excitement of personal interaction. Purpose: In the bachelor’s thesis we want to present various examples of red-white aesthetics based on the frontal view of the upper front teeth, from the right upper canine to the upper left canine, and to identify their characteristics, significance and influence on people. At the same time, we want to create the scheme of individual representation of aesthetic rules as a guide at work. We have set two hypotheses. Hypothesis 1: The appearance of soft obesity tissues is as important as the appearance of teeth. Hypothesis 2: Laypeople is the color look of teeth more important than the appearance of soft obstructive tissues. Methods: The main source of information in the bachelor’s thesis is professional literature, such as scientific articles, scientific journals, and professional books. Literature was searched for in libraries, web browsers, and on online professional databases, such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, ProQuest, Google, Google Scholar, etc. Foreign literature (English, Croatian, and German) was used. The cases were created at the Dental Clinic under the guidance of the mentor and co-mentor, and photographs taken during the phases of the work were also used. An online survey was used using the case photos. Results: According to the survey questionnaire, we obtained results that none of the cases presented is assessed as very aesthetic. It is also surprising that from all the cases there is no case with aesthetic assessment, which is confirmed by the confirmation of the choice of minimal aesthetic changes in all the cases. A scheme of red and white aesthetics was also created. Discussion and conclusion: We found that an example containing all aesthetic regularities is not considered the most aesthetic example, which is contradictory. Likewise, with the high expectation of aesthetic assessment, it did not get the expected result. Most people think that the smile is very important in the appearance of the face. Most of them have also a more important color appearance of the teeth compared to the color appearance of soft obesity tissues. By combining various branches of dentistry and modern technology involving a large range of materials, it is possible to achieve high aesthetic results that are individually adaptable to each patient.
