The purpose of the diploma work is to present conflicts and their background and mediation as alternative solutions to conflict resolution. In the real world, we encounter conflicts everywhere and the workplace is no exception. Since we need to work together in the working environment, we must also resolve disagreements successfully. Mediation represents the fastest and cheapest option for resolving conflicts.
In the theoretical part, conflict and mediation are presented in more detail based on the theoretical definitions so far. In the empirical part, the employees in the studied organizations present the results of survey questionnaires, on the frequency of conflicts and knowledge of mediation. The results of the survey show that employees often find themselves in conflict with their colleague rather than employers. A large percentage of respondents also thought about leaving the organization because of unsustainable relationships. It was found that most respondents had already heard about mediation, although they were never involved in the process. The results of the research have shown that employed would rather resolve the conflicts through mediation than in court.
The diploma work can help the organizations studied to try to limit the causes of conflicts that were perceived by the employees and to check whether one of the conflicts is more serious and would require the intervention of a mediator. The research can be continued in the direction of comparing the frequency of perception of conflicts between the employees with different working periods, or in the direction of exploring the feelings of participants in mediation.
