Abstract

Title:Art as an intuitive practice / Transparency and abstract field
Abstract:
In the first, theoretical part, I will explore the numerous interpretations of the term »intuition«; how to access its source, and what role it has played in the works of various artists throughout history. I will start this journey through time with the pioneers of abstract art, finishing with the present day. The before mentioned theoretical part is related to my practical work, and in order to understand my own process of practise, I will reflect on the theoretical plattform it has given me. I am interested in: the process of thinking; the transition from conscious to unconscious; how reason plays a role in the creative act, and what significance intuition plays in art. I will also be considering spirituality; how it is expressed through art, and how spirituality reflects through intuition.
