The permanent research plots, located in the former slash-and-burn areas in the cadastral community of Koprivna were remeasured for the sixth time. The forests on the research plots are privately owned and after research plots have been established in 1960, no significant forest management occurred. On the research plots the growing stock, basal area and diameter structure have been estimated. Growing stock ranges from 566.41 m3/ha to 761.30 m3/ha. Basel area ranges from 48.68 m2/ha to 61.67 m2/ha. As compared to previous available measurements, the significant raise of forest stand height curves has been determined. The share of Norway spruce in growing stock has increased by more than 20 % in the last 60 years. As compared to the previous years, the share of high vital trees increased by 20 %. Also the stem quality of the trees have increased. Historic forest cover has been compared to the current forest cover. In addition, the vertical stand structure on the research plots was obtained and presented by using publicly available information Laser scanning of Slovenia (2015).
