Kolekcija oblačil z izhodiščem v umetnosti

Diplomsko delo opisuje razvoj in realizacijo kolekcije oblačil, ki izhaja iz inspiracije v umetnosti, podrobneje iz obdobja rokokoja in del fotografskega dua Pierre et Gilles. V teoretičnem delu sem se poglobila v kreativno inspiracijo, ki sem jo iskala v zgodovini mode v 18. stoletju, še posebej francoskem stilu, ki je izražal delikatnost, lahkotnost, eleganco ter simboliziral razkošno in uživaško dvorno življenje. Raziskala sem tudi delo francoskih fotografov Pierre et Gilles, ki že vrsto desetletij združujeta fotografijo in slikarstvo ter tako ustvarjata svojevrstno estetiko, ki temelji na kiču in ikonografiji. V eksperimentalnem delu je predstavljen razvoj kolekcije oblačil, ki svoj navdih išče v umetnosti. Raziskala sem oblačilne silhuete iz obdobja rokokoja, ki sem jih prenesla v svoje oblačilne kose. V kolekciji sem uporabila tudi ročno izdelane tekstilne teksture, ki sem jih zaznala v zanimivih detajlih iz arhitekture tistega časa. Uporabljala sem tudi materiale, ki so si med seboj nasprotujoči – debeli, plastični materiali proti tankim, prosojnim. Z uporabo tako različnih materialov se pokažejo razlike v poudarjenosti oblik, s čimer dobimo občutek silhuet iz rokokoja, izražena pa je tudi estetika že prej omenjenih fotografskih del. Rezultat dela je eksperimentalna kolekcija oblačil s kostumskim pridihom. Pretirane silhuete so s sodobnimi materiali in oblikovalskimi posegi prenešene v sodobni čas.

• Title: Fashion collection with inspiration in art

Abstract

Bachelor thesis represents the process and realization of a fashion collection with inspiration in art, especially from the period of Rococo and from work by photographic duo Pierre et Gilles. In the theoretical part of my thesis, I looked into the creative inspiration, which I have found in the history of fashion in the eighteenth century, more thoroughly the French style, which was delicate, light and elegant and symbolized luxurious and decadent royal lifestyle. I also focused on the work of French photographers Pierre et Gilles, who have been creating a world where photography and painting meet for decades and by that making their own aesthetic, based on kitsch and iconography. The experimental part presents the development of the collection, with inspiration in art. I researched fashion silhouettes from Rococo, which I then interpreted in my own deigns. For my collection, I used handmade textile textures, which were found in interesting details in the architecture from that period. I also used different materials – thick, plastic materials in contrast with thin and see through. By doing that the differences in the shapes show well, which gives the feeling of the silhouettes from rococo and the aesthetic of aforementioned photographs is also expressed. The result of the thesis is an experimental fashion collection with a hint of costume design. Exaggerated silhouettes are transferred into contemporary time with the usage of modern materials and some design interventions.
