The final thesis deals with deformation states of the planar elastic beam according to the theory of large displacements. At one end, the beam is built-in, and at the other end it is free. It is loaded with its own weight and the point force on the free end. The snap-through angles are calculated numerically and measured experimentally. A fourth-order Runge Kutta numerical procedure and the shooting method were used to solve the nonlinear differential equation. The maximum horizontal reach of the beam is also calculated. The elastic energy of the beam was discussed.
